DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, managing cloud infrastructure, and enabling our development teams to ship faster and more reliably.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins or GitLab CI
  • Manage and optimise cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform and Ansible
  • Monitor system health, performance and reliability using tools like Prometheus, Grafana and Datadog
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment workflows
  • Ensure security best practices are embedded across the infrastructure
  • Participate in on-call rotations and incident response

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering role
  • Strong proficiency with Linux systems administration
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Solid understanding of networking, DNS, firewalls and VPNs
  • Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS preferred)
  • Scripting skills in Bash and/or Python
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

Nice to Have

  • AWS, Azure or GCP certifications
  • Experience with service mesh (Istio, Linkerd)
  • Familiarity with GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, Flux)

As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will design and manage scalable, secure and cost-efficient cloud environments for FirstByte and our clients. You will work closely with our DevOps and support teams to deliver world-class cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and deploy cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or Azure
  • Manage virtual networks, compute, storage and database services
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Perform cloud cost optimisation and resource right-sizing
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices
  • Support cloud migration projects for clients
  • Create and maintain technical documentation

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on cloud infrastructure experience
  • Deep knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda) or Azure equivalents
  • Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (VPC, subnets, routing, security groups)
  • Familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure and maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS/RHEL)
  • Monitor system performance, availability and security
  • Manage user accounts, permissions and access controls
  • Perform regular system updates, patches and backups
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in a timely manner

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Linux systems administration experience

Requirements
